Light absorption and scattering in cellular capsules

The main difficulty in 3D imaging of spheroids and organoids lies in the fact that these aggregates strongly absorb and scatter light. This makes high throughput imaging even more complicated and time-consuming. As an alternative, in particular for the purposes of sorting and screening, we are aiming for an image-free approach based on the integration of a simple light analyzer into a microfluidic device for capsules. This involves deciphering the transmitted signal to derive some parameters characterizing the growth and fate of the spheroids/organoids.
